Choose HubSpot Service Hub when support should run inside the CRM you already use. Choose Help Scout for an email-led service inbox that displays selected HubSpot context. Choose Zendesk when a separate help desk and synchronized customer/ticket records are priorities. Choose Intercom when in-product conversations should feed HubSpot contact activity. The deciding question is what the CRM must receive: service tickets, customer properties or conversation history.

HubSpot connector listing
Service Hub: choose the native ticket workspace
HubSpot help desk centralizes tickets from configured chat, email and other support channels. It requires Service Hub Professional or Enterprise. This is the first shortlist choice when the service team wants to manage tickets in HubSpot and use native contact/company associations. Compare the help desk configuration against the existing CRM subscription; owning HubSpot CRM does not automatically include this service workspace.
Help Scout: put the chosen CRM details beside the reply
The Help Scout connector displays selected default or custom contact/company properties, activity and associated deal information. It can create a HubSpot contact and record conversation activity on the contact timeline. Choose it when those customer details should support an email-led inbox without moving the operational queue into HubSpot. Only one HubSpot account connects, and one CRM integration can own the Help Scout profile synchronization. The connector is included on Plus/Pro and excludes Marketing Hub Free.
Zendesk: distinguish customer sync from ticket sync
The HubSpot-built Zendesk Data Sync app maps users to contacts and organizations to companies. Its listing promotes two-way data sharing but explicitly says ticket sync is one-way. Archived tickets are excluded, and custom field mappings require Data Hub Starter or higher. Conversation-history Smart Transfer is described separately; do not treat it as evidence that every reply becomes a continuously synchronized ticket conversation.
Intercom: conversation activity with a fixed CRM card
Intercom’s native HubSpot app sends contacts and conversation activity from Intercom to HubSpot. Customer replies sync in real time, while teammate replies sync when the conversation closes. The inbox card has six fixed fields: name, email, company name, lifecycle stage, lead status and owner. If a service owner needs another field, bring it into an Intercom custom attribute through Data Sync by HubSpot. That reverse flow is a separate configuration from the native app.
Freshdesk: use the listed HubSpot connector
Freshworks lists a HubSpot Connector App for Freshdesk and Freshdesk Omni and describes it as syncing data between Freshdesk and HubSpot CRM. A separate Freshdesk-Hubspot app is free and specifically syncs marketing contacts from HubSpot with Freshdesk contacts.
Replay the CRM event you actually need
Use one customer contact with a company association, a custom support-tier property and an open request. Change the support tier in HubSpot, reply in the support workspace and close the request. Inspect the result as the support agent and the account owner. Map the required CRM record type—native ticket, ticket record or timeline activity—to the documented integration. These are different representations even when each vendor lists a HubSpot integration.
Price the service users, each support-product tier, and required connector or Data Hub charges as one configured subscription. Keep HubSpot service-seat and AI-credit entitlements in that calculation. For a company without a mandatory CRM connector, use the general B2B SaaS shortlist. Compare Salesforce support platforms separately because its objects, permissions and connector rules differ. All support comparisons.
How we assessed this shortlist
We compare current official product, integration and plan documentation for this buying decision. Each matrix cell qualifies the configured plan and connector. Recommendations follow the documented workflow and integration boundaries; no numerical quality score or invented hands-on test is used.

Best Customer Support Software for HubSpot 2026: documented features
Service Hub Professional/Enterprise places support tickets in HubSpot’s native help desk workspace, keeping service within the existing CRM.[1]
Ticket objects are native CRM records with contact/company associations; the help desk is the support workspace rather than a separate vendor syncing a contact copy.[2][1]
Email, chat and other configured channels create/manage tickets in the HubSpot workspace; no separate helpdesk-to-HubSpot ticket connector is needed for this configuration.[1][3]
The native help desk workspace requires Service Hub Professional or Enterprise. Seat and AI-credit entitlements are separate purchasing decisions; a free CRM or Starter inbox is not the same help desk configuration.[1][4][5]
Use Help Scout as the service queue and expose selected HubSpot CRM data inside the conversation sidebar.[6]
Display chosen default/custom contact or company properties plus latest activity, lists, workflows and associated deals in the support sidebar.[6]
Create a HubSpot contact and add conversation activity to its timeline. Optional Sync Profile lets HubSpot own Help Scout profile updates; these documented actions are not HubSpot ticket-object synchronization.[6]
Integration is included with Plus/Pro and works with HubSpot accounts except Marketing Hub Free. Only one HubSpot account connects and only one CRM integration can own Help Scout profile synchronization.[6]
HubSpot-built Data Sync joins the Zendesk support system to the existing HubSpot CRM.[7]
Sync Zendesk users with HubSpot contacts and organizations with companies; default mappings are provided and custom field mappings require Data Hub Starter or higher.[7]
The listing advertises two-way data sync but explicitly qualifies ticket sync as one-way. Archived tickets do not sync; Smart Transfer of conversation history is a separate operation.[7]
Listing names Suite Team/Growth/Professional compatibility. Data Hub Starter or higher is needed for custom field mappings. Avoid using the marketplace’s old sample prices as the live Zendesk quote.[7]
Intercom handles the conversation while its HubSpot app creates CRM contacts and records conversation activity.[8]
Name, email, company name, lifecycle stage, lead status and owner appear in the inbox card. Additional HubSpot properties require separate Intercom custom attributes and Data Sync configuration.[8]
Native app sends contact data and conversation activities from Intercom to HubSpot. Customer replies sync live; teammate replies sync on closure. Reverse attribute flow requires Data Sync by HubSpot.[8]
App is available on Essential, Advanced and Expert. Some features require a paid HubSpot account; admin access is required and company-level attributes are not sent by the native app.[8]
Freshdesk remains the named support product; Freshworks lists a HubSpot Connector App for Freshdesk and Freshdesk Omni that syncs data between Freshdesk and HubSpot CRM.[9]
Plus/Pro displays selected contact/company properties and activities, adds contacts and logs conversations to HubSpot activity. One HubSpot account connects; one CRM integration can own profile sync. Marketing Hub Free is excluded.
HubSpot-built Data Sync handles users/contacts, organizations/companies and ticket objects. Ticket sync is one-way, archived tickets are excluded, custom mappings need Data Hub Starter or higher; conversation Smart Transfer is a separate feature.
Essential/Advanced/Expert app creates HubSpot contacts and logs Intercom conversation activity one-way to HubSpot. The inbox card has six fixed fields; reverse data sync uses Data Sync by HubSpot.
