Choose Document360 or Helpjuice for an independently managed knowledge base. Choose Zendesk or Intercom when localized search and support conversations need to stay together; compare Freshdesk for Pro-level multilingual articles and Enterprise review. Zoho Desk adds automatic translation. The deciding differences are translation upkeep, search coverage and publishing controls.

Document360: separate the documentation lifecycle from the queue

Document360 is the first choice to evaluate when product documentation needs dedicated ownership. Its workspace localization supports stored language versions through manual content, Eddy AI or Crowdin. Those records feed knowledge search and Ask Eddy; a browser-only translation layer does not. Language records can be edited and published independently.

Translation runs consume project credits, and source changes need another run. For access, Mixed mode combines public and logged-in sections, with reader groups scoping content. A ticket deflector can send a request to Zendesk or Freshdesk. Include languages, reader access, translation credits and the helpdesk connection in the Document360 quote.

Helpjuice: link translations, review them and control synchronization

Helpjuice is worth reviewing when editors want an independent knowledge base with linked language copies, assigned translators and deliberate synchronization. Publishing a source change does not automatically sync every translation; the team triggers that update. Retranslating an existing article replaces its full translated text, which matters for manually refined terminology and translation charges.

The review process can require all reviewers or one reviewer and defines which roles can bypass approval. Private content can be scoped to logged-in users/groups inside a public structure. A secret share URL is a different access mechanism. Contact forms can email a ticketing address, leaving the queue in the receiving helpdesk. See Helpjuice pricing for user and translation cost boundaries.

Zendesk: localized knowledge with article audiences and tickets

Choose Zendesk when the team's help center already sits beside its requests. The localization workflow requires translated category and section parents as well as articles. Enterprise Team Publishing stages changes to existing content for review before publication; that is a different requirement from simply enabling more locales.

Search is language-sensitive. The help-center locale must match the translation, and language-specific search optimizations differ. Article user segments can expose public and customer-specific knowledge in one help center. The request route is native, so readers can move from an article to a support case without adding a second ticket system.

Freshdesk: maintain translated solutions inside the ticket team

Freshdesk is a practical comparison for a team that wants translated answers in its existing support portal. Pro and Enterprise support master and translated articles, with incomplete languages hidden until ready. Editors can mark translations outdated after a primary-language update and work through the remaining list. Enterprise adds review and approval, with publication behavior determined by permissions.

Use the native portal for raising and tracking requests. Test cross-language search with the required terms and languages.

Intercom: localized self-service beside Messenger conversations

Intercom fits a team that wants customers to search translated articles in the product and start a conversation from the same Messenger. Its multilingual Help Center documentation lists 64 article languages, but the buyer supplies translated content and publishes each language version separately. Multi-language Help Centers require Advanced or higher; Essential is limited to an English default.

Intercom documents full localized search for a subset of languages; some other languages return unexpected search results. Test the required language against its search localization guidance. Article audiences can target logged-in users and attributes such as plan or company, but require a custom domain, cookie forwarding and a login link. A negative article reaction can open a Messenger conversation with the team.

Zoho Desk: automate article translation inside the support system

Zoho Desk is a fit to evaluate when the support team wants translation maintenance in its Help Center. The multilingual workflow supports manual translations or Google Translate, Unbabel and Zia. Automated article translations are drafts that editors publish manually; source changes need another translation run. Zoho lists over 40 multilingual knowledge-base languages in its plan comparison, with the feature in Professional and Enterprise. Zia supports a smaller documented language set; external engines have separate language coverage.

Customers choose a configured Help Center language; Zoho says browser language does not select it. Category visibility can restrict articles to registered users or selected groups.

A two-language release is a publishing test

Start with a public setup article and a customer-restricted configuration article in English and German. Change one product setting in English. Follow the translation status, review the German change, publish each language and search for the revised setting while logged out and logged in. Record which content is current, which reader can find it and where an unanswered question becomes a ticket. This is a proposed acceptance test, not a claim that these products were tested hands-on.

This is not a native Helpjuice ticket queue.[14]
ZendeskSuite Enterprise comparison configuration: enable locales and supply translated articles plus matching category/section parents; translations can be external or use the AI translation tool.[15] [16]Help-center locale must match the article language. Search optimizations vary by language; Japanese, Korean and Chinese do not use fuzzy search. This is documented behavior, not a relevance benchmark.[17]Suite Enterprise or Knowledge Enterprise: stage changes to published articles, send for review and approve/publish with Team Publishing. Lower qualifying plans have a different draft workflow.[18]Suite Enterprise: article permissions can match authenticated customer segments by organization, tags or named users; multiple segments can apply. Segments are shared across brands and Knowledge admins retain universal visibility.[19] [20]Default Zendesk help centers offer Submit a request and ticket tracking beside knowledge articles. The request form can suggest articles as a subject is entered; administrators can customize the route or require sign-in.[21]
IntercomAdvanced or higher: configure a multilingual Help Center with up to 64 documented article languages. Editors supply translated article and collection content. Language variants require separate translation, and each translated version is published separately.[22]In a multilingual Help Center (Advanced or higher), search has full localized support for a vendor-listed subset of languages[23]Advanced or higher multilingual Help Center: editors add translations manually and publish each language version separately; drafts do not appear to customers until published. Collections need translated names and at least one translated article to appear.[22]Advanced/Expert: per-article audience rules can match login status, company, plan or custom attributes. A custom domain, cookie forwarding and login link are required; Help Center viewing rules and Fin answer audiences are separate.[24] [25]Configured Messenger article search/browsing sits beside new conversations; after a negative article reaction, customers can contact the team through Messenger. Start-conversation and audience settings must allow the route.[26]
FreshdeskFreshdesk Pro/Enterprise: create a master article then language drafts beside it; mark translations outdated after source updates and publish each revised language. Incomplete languages can stay hidden.[27] [28]Not documented[29]Freshdesk Enterprise: send drafts for review, approve and publish; publishing permissions determine whether an agent can bypass approval. Pro includes language/status management but not this approval workflow.[30] [31]Enterprise configuration: restrict knowledge folders to selected companies, contact segments or company segments; public and general logged-in folder visibility are separate choices.[32]The customer portal contains knowledge articles/FAQs and lets customers raise and track support tickets; multi-product portals require Pro or above.[33]
Zoho DeskProfessional/Enterprise: multilingual knowledge base is included; admins can supply manual translations or use Google Translate, Unbabel, or Zia. Auto-translated article versions are saved as drafts and must be published manually; later master edits need another translation request. Zoho describes over 40 supported knowledge-base languages; Zia lists 15.[34] [35] [36]Customers can search the knowledge base in their native language.[37]Professional/Enterprise multilingual knowledge base: translated versions have Published, Draft, Review and auto-translation-in-progress states. Each language version must be published; auto-translations remain drafts until manual publication. Editors can mark manual translations outdated after source changes and track language status.[34] [36]Customer knowledge-base categories can be restricted to selected user groups; group visibility limits articles to registered/Zoho Desk users. Category visibility also supports registered-user and custom-IP access, with public/registered/all-user article choices under other category settings.[38]Not documented
