Multi-Brand Customer Support: Identity, Access and Routing

Evaluate multi-brand support by sender identity, portals, agent access, plan limits and routing. Test isolation before combining support teams.

Shortlist Deskpro, Zendesk Enterprise, Freshdesk Enterprise and Zoho Desk Enterprise for six-brand service. Check customer-record separation before deciding: brand-specific portals and ticket permissions do not establish isolated customer identities.

Does the package actually include six branded portals?

Deskpro lists three branded help centers in Team and ten in Professional; Professional has a ten-agent minimum. Zendesk’s five-brand allowance is not enough for this scenario. Freshdesk’s Enterprise workspaces require enablement, and Zoho’s multibrand route is Enterprise. Count live customer-facing brands before multiplying the headline seat rate.

Are customer profiles isolated as well as tickets?

Zendesk documents global user and organization records. Freshdesk contacts are not workspace-scoped by default. Zoho contacts and accounts are not department-specific; a unique portal registration setting is not the same thing. These facts can disqualify a shared-instance design even when brand ticket access is restricted.

What must the administrator test?

Create two brands and register the same customer email in both. Use a restricted agent account to inspect search, customer profiles, past tickets, attachments and exports. Test sender identity on replies. For strict separation, price separate accounts and central administration.

Turn the requirements into a trial

  1. Brand A staff must not discover Brand B tickets, contacts, companies, attachments or reports through search, direct URLs, export or API.
  2. Use the same customer email for two brands and inspect notes, history and consent separation.
  3. Test all six sender domains, portals, notifications and central administration.
